Hi All,

I have a question and I feel TOTALLY stupid for asking this. But since I am just getting back in the hobby after 15+ years this is kinda new to me, so here it is.

On my Sigma lenses I have a switch called "Macro" Now what can/will this do, what type of shots would you use this for?

Also if by any chance someone can post a shot with and without using the macro so I can see the difference.

I very truely appreciate any and all help on this.

THANKS,
Ron

Macro means that you can focus closer than normal.

I don't have the lens, but here is an example of a macro shot.

This is about 1:1 which means that image is a full size representation of the object on the negative.

Thanks for your replies. I think I understand.

My Sigma Lenses are:

28-80mm F3.5 - 5.6 II Mini Zoom Macro
70-300mm F4 - 5.6 DL Macro Super

Again, Thank You.

I'd feel stupid for bumping a thread from 2003...
