Your lighting in the first is once again extra special. I like it a lot.
The second is a bit flat ... do you use this greyness on purpose?
I always try to avoid taking pics of people while they eat ... their faces get so easily distorted and unflattering. But that is just me (who hates her own picture taken and shown around with a mouth full!)
