Sunflower on Blue - 2nd in the Pop Floral series

Colors are all jacked up..

Oh? You mean the browns in the yellows? Lots of ridges in the petals.. and I tried to emphasize the textures...

explain please

I have mixed feelings.
I like the contrast of the basic colors. I like the detail.
I also think it looks ridiculously two-dimensional. Like you superimposed the flower picture over a background from another scene...but that scene is a just blank.

That being said, I like it overall.

thanks for the comments. This is part of a series.. just an idea I had. This is the first in the series... so you will have a better idea of what I am doing...

I like this second one more.
The shadow on the stem gives just enough to put a bit of 3d back into it. Also the slight transparency of the outer fringe of the petals makes it look like it belongs with the background.

I like the idea, I just don't care for the background color. To me, it looks like a blue-screen image that is waiting for a background to be applied. It just doesn't feel as finished as the last one. And I would agree too, to bring down the pp on the petal texture. There is good texture there, just a touch overdone for me.

The background look's odd. By odd I mean photoshoped or green screened lol. Anyways good job on taking the picture!

It is photoshopped... I shot it with a dark blue background, and then decided redo it for a little bit more variety. I feel that for this type of photo, it is appropriate to have an "artificial" background. Pop art.. and all that.

I did the same on the other floral shots to date... Here was the original shot I posted, and decided to change it up a bit.
