Sunset over the Operahouse

Oslo December 23rd 2014. As the sun was setting, I went up on the roof with my Pentax K-3, a Pentax 18-55mm and a tripod to see if I could get some silhouettes of people.

I tried several crops, and this is where I ended up. What do you think about the crop that makes you not very fond of it?

Two is a very "ungrateful" number for balancing. You have two subject here. One is straight forward and the other one is looking to her right. I think there's a bit more room behind her than it needs to be.

Anyway, it's jmo and if the picture was mine, I'd really struggle to compose it with two of them .

I would probably make two pictures out of this one with a different composition.
#1 clone the girl out, place him in the middle and fix the ground a bit. Making the complete symmetry that is
#2 clone the guy out and put her in the lower right spot, giving her lots of empty space to look at

I like it, I wouldn't worry about cloning or any "rules" of composition here, you had this to work with and unless you could have yelled at them and told them to move then don't worry about it. I think a bit more dark space at the bottom might be good. I wouldn't have shot this at f32 though. Never use an aperture that small unless you have a specific reason. You could have probably hand held this at f8 ISO 400.

I personally like the crop... I think the people are in a decent spot. Only thing I would change is have some more darkness on the bottom but other than that very nice!
