Sunset/Sunrise photos… Want warm, saturated colors? This method works exceptionally well when using center-weighted metering, regardless of camera type.

1. Compose your photograph of the rising/setting sun.
2. Shift the camera left or right and meter with the sun slightly out of frame.
3. Shift back to your step 1 composition and fire away.

In a similar vein, I usually meter on the foreground with the sun just on the edge of the frame, then recompose with the sun where I want it. The result is the foreground detail is there and the sun usually isn't blown out. Yhanks for the tip DA...
