I did learn what lens works and what shutter speed works so next time.

Thanks, I played with this a bit to see what works. Seems like a 1/4 to 1/2 sec shot works best.

For moving subjects (like water on the shore) use as a fast shutter speed as you can to stay in the aperture you chose (1/250 - 1/1200). You may need to bump up the ISO a little. This will help to give the water a more natural appearance.

I guess there are many approaches to water pics. I prefer some motion but not super smooth, you seem to like they way your eye see's it. I can't complain about any of them. Thanks for the insight.
