That is a spectacular photo!!
 
It is overexposed by at least a stop. You should be able to compensate for this is your editing program (sent PM for example). The giveaway is the blown out patch of snow behind the tree as well as the clarity of light on the backside. Given the position/angle of the sun (facing the lens), you couldn't possibly have that much light on the backside (in this case, north) of the tree unless there was an enormous bank of white snow just behind you and that didn't happen or you wouldn't have the distinct tree shadows.
 
Yea you can probably increase the dynamic range on this one. try a levels adjustment. GREAT starting point though! love it
 
Amazing! You should use this location again for sure. Maybe take in some of the critics as posted, but amazing contrast.
