Hey people, I got a few surf shots in San Diego on my latest trip looks too soft to me, but I'd love to hear your opinion (good and bad) and some feedback on how I can step-up my game.

Some hints:

1) shoot at a wider angle if can, so you have some room to crop your composition. If youre shooting with a prime, Instead of shooting the guys right under the pier, point the cam to the north and capture a different peak.

2) shoot better surfers or a better spot. Looks like you're at Crystal Pier (Pacific Beach). Shooting at Windansea would give you a better crop of surfers to shoot. Although sometimes I have seen good surfers at Crystal Pier. The more you surf, the more you can tell who's a good surfer and who isn't, and save the battery and memory card for the right riders :)
