Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Okay I think my camera is heading toward its death bed I feel (Will be getting it serviced to be sure and what not) BUT ive started thinking about getting a new camera.
Ive always liked Nikon over Canon (No particular reason really) So I've started looking into them, My job is a equestrian sports photographer, and I have no idea where to begin with nikon (im used to Sony) Can someone tell me the order they go in from entry level to Pro? I cant really afford to spend LOADS but I do want somthing above entry level I think.
Any advice about Nikon would be great :) :D

"Loads" is a relative term. To some, "loads" of money would be over $1,000. To someone else, "loads" would be over $10,000.

Could you post your budget in dollars?

D90/D7000/D300s> these are the top three 1.5x Nikon bodies currently being sold in terms of "body" features and speed of firing; be aware though that the D7000 has a newer,better-performing sensor and electronics than the D90 or the D300s.

At the Full Frame level, the cameras would be the D700, then the D3, then the newer and current D3s which is the KING of High-ISO bodies from all makers, and then the D3x, a 24.5 MP full-frame camera aimed at high-megapixel captures.

If it were ME, and I were an equestrian photographer, I would want the D3s for its ability to shoot and focus well indoors under lousy artificial lighting situations.

I personally would but the d7000 and the d300s really close to the same level. In fact, the d7000 outperforms the 300s in certain areas. although the 300 has the much more rigid body. I would assume, as do many, that the 300 will be getting replaced with a new version soon that will outperform the 7000.

edit: I want to point out I haven't used a 7000. This is just from reading reviews and such online.

I've used canon for the past 35 years, I have a couple of 1D's and a 1D mkll. Two days ago I received my new D3s and D700. If you want Nikon, and you are just shooting the ponies I would go with the D700 and some fast glass.

The D7000 dertainly looks like somthing to look into, What range would that be, Like entry level? Semi pro? (Im looking into the website but its being rather difficult)
Id love to be able to have the D3s or D3x sounds amazing!
Ive played around with a canon 1D (ithink) and i did like it, but ive just always been a Nikon fan, and im not sure how great the mid range Canons are, There entry levels are pretty sucky.

Ok I think im looking at about NZ $2,500 for the body and a kit lens. Which is a bareable price I think. Dont know what lenses id look into yet though, (Got that price off trade me) the nikon site doesnt want to help me out tongiht)

depends on what your shooting. If you do horse racing I would look into the 70-200 2.8. they have a vr and a vrII. You can pick up the old model vr for about half the price (used) as the newer vrII.

Yeah ive been looking into that exact lens :) Also been looking into a bigger zoom one like a 400mm which would be rather handy for horse stuff.

Personally I would go with a D700 along with a 70-200 2.8 VR along with a 80-400 VR or a Sigma 150-500.
