Has anyone ever taken photos of the Aurora Borealis with an SX620?

It doesn't have manual focus It has a few modes that let you adjust a couple of the settings , but not all that are required for A.B. photos.

In P mode you can adjust the ISO, exposure, and use the AWB and Infinity settings, but you can't adjust the shutter speed.

In Night mode you can only adjust the shutter speed and use the AWB and Infinity setting.

In Fireworks mode only the exposure can be adjusted.

In Long mode you can adjust only the shutter speed, and use the AWB and Infinity setting

Which of the four modes would be the best?
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

INFINITY FOCUS-yes...

Long exposures, 5 to 30
seconds, yes

I am not that familiar with the camera....you Have one right? Why not pre-try a few might shots of very dim scenes, and get a feel for how the various modes react to night-time light levels.

It's PowerShot SX 620.

Thanks for the tips. Luckily the 4th of July is right around the corner so I can test the Fireworks mode.
