Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
So I just got this camera the other day, and the last time I took pictures was back in the film and prephotoshop days.

I m wanting to work on taking an average picture and being able adjust it correctly in photoshop, I am also looking for tips on taking a better picture, by no means is this an awesome shot nor my best, but i would like to see how it could look if I knew what i was doing in PS. So if you have a minute or two, please dl it and let me know what you did with the result

TIA

here is the raw

^^^^^^^^^ what he said.......no clicky linky

Nice shot but not over the top interesting. You got the bird close to the thirds which is nice, but the bird is facing out of frame making my eye go out too. I think you captured some neat lines in the water.

Keep shooting

Try a tighter crop to bring more of the bird closer.

I'll go with a tighter crop, and put the bird to the left half of the frame.

There's only so much you can really do to a photo like that in photoshop. Trying to make it look more interesting will inevitably lead to it looking over-processed, and therefore by the transitive property, ****.

Whenever water gives you a line in the background (horizon, bank, whatever), make sure you got that line straight! Else the viewer must fear all the water will run out of your photo and onto their things!!! ;-)
This photo is too dark, the subject too far away, it is facing in the wrong direction (as has been said before) ... but the ripples on the water surface made by the wind are nice.
