Taking pics with glasses.

I'm near sighted and I was wondering if taking pics with my glasses on or off will make a difference. I know I can try myself but I get mixed results. Do you wear yours while taking photos?

I alwasys wear my glasses and I have never had a problem. You can buy an eyepiece that replaces the OEM one on your camera that supposed to be better for people with glasses but I have never felt the need to pick one up.

I'm not sure what you shoot with but here is one for Nikon's with square eyepieces (D5000, D3100, D5100, D7000, ect)

Same here. I always wear my glasses and I've never felt it necessary to change the eyepiece.

I don't wear my glasses when I shoot, the diopter gets me close enough

I use a Canon 60D, it already has diopter adjustment in the viewfinder. I am sure other cameras may also have this feature. Please check.

Without my glasses on, I would not be able to FIND my camera, and if I was already holding it, I wouldn't be able to find the little viewfinder, never mind actually see anything through it, so yeah, I wear my glasses.

The diopter adjustment doesn't help me even a little bit. I'm legally blind without my glasses, so I really have no choice but to keep them on to take photos. They have never been a hindrance though.

I'd say if you can see without them well enough to focus accurately (after adjusting the diopter dial if you need to) AND if wearing your glasses is somehow impeding your photo-taking--then sure, take them off. But otherwise, there's really no reason to remove them.

Lot of people prefer to use the diopter and shoot without glasses so they can get nice and tight into the viewfinder.

30 years of shooting SLR/DSLR with either glasses on or wearing contacts here.

With glasses on I was always able to see everything in the camera viewfinder, so glasses were never an issue.

I find it more comfortable to wear contacts, but when glasses are on they stay on. Diopter doesn't correct enough for my eyes. Just waiting for the day when I can finally get surgery & be done worrying about it!

I always wear my glasses. The diopter doesn't help at all and frankly, even if it did, I'd still have to put the glasses on to find camera functions and buttons so its not worth the trouble! I just keep the glasses on.

funny thing is, when I use my DSLR, the camera fixes my astigmatism! But, when I use my rangefinder, I need to wear glasses or everything is always OoF.

Well, I just close my eyes and let the camera do the work,

I never wear my glasses when i focus the diopter works fine for me, but I have to put them on to see the darn settings, lol really.

I guess it all depends on our eyes what is best for me may not be best for you.

I wear bifocalglasses all the time, so taking them off would seem unnatural. I do look through the view finder using the upper part for distance, then glance down through the lower part of the glasses to see my notes I write down.

Glasses really get in the way for me, and the diopter doesn't go far enough in the direction I need it to.

I just wear contacts when I shoot.
