Tamron 200-400 f5.6 for Nikon question

Hi Folks,

I have been curious as to how a Nikon 200-400 mm lens would perform. Found one on eBay for $2800.00. Also found a Tamron 200-400 for $125.00. Decided to buy the Tamron and save $2700.00 dollars. What could possibly go wrong? The owner said he bought it for $600.00 brand new several years ago. I decided to give it a try. If it doesn't work out, I could give it to someone. Has anyone ever tried this particular Tamron lens?
