Pretty competent location OCF work Jake. I looked at some of the Original-sized shots on Flickr. Whatever lens that is has a slight bit of purple CA showing up on some frames. Not visible except at the big sizes though. What were you using as a light source?

Agree ^^ I'll also add that #2 is one of the very few successful "shooting from below" images I've seen here in a long time.

I was using the Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro. I guess it does suffer from bad CA! I was using a sb600 shooting through a 3x2 softbox with eggcrate and inner baffle in place. One thing I've noticed using my d90 to trigger OCF is when I want to shoot in portrait orientation I'm having a hell of a time getting it to fire when it is placed camera left. So if anyone saw me shooting that is why I had my gripped camera all the wrong way. It was also forcing me to shoot with broad lighting a lot which I think hurt the final outcomes of the images. Luckily, for me, these were done for free for my wife's younger cousin who made the mistake of spending the money her mom gave her for her senior pictures on outfits, leaving the photography to some kid at her school. I still have until friday before she has to pick a few for her yearbook so I think we'll be bringing her out to a couple parks/lakes during the week to get a few more to choose from.

Thanks, that means a lot. I was thinking the same thing while attempting it. I noticed that it looked ok because she was leaning towards the camera on the downward slope of the bridge.

I think that they both ahve potential but could use a bit of tinkering.

In #1, she is leaning back a bit, her face is too bright and contrasty and her sweater too bright.

You know, I look at each of these and I wonder if she might photograph better when there isn't open sky.
While she is slightly dark complected, her skin also must be quick reflective and thus in every shot her face seems quite contrasty - perhaps reflecting the brightness of the sky.

She has a charming natural look and, if she is a willing subject, it might be a great learning experience for both of us.

Thanks, this also might be caused by my lack of knowledge in the post processing department. I like to pull the highlights up, the shadow side down and bump the mid contrast in my curves. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I think it works best in black and white which is what I usually process too. She wanted these in color and I'm a mess when it comes to color, skin tones, etc. You can see by the processing in these, they're all different! I can't keep consistent skin tones.

I figured I'd post a few m ore from that set up. I was pretty 'meh' about most of the images I took of Tarin because I was having so much trouble firing my flashes off camera using the d90 as a trigger. I really need to save for a 3rd flash and pocket wizards.
