Got my Sigma 50mm 1.4 (non-art because student loans and whatnot), and I'm absolutely loving the bokeh and the tiny depth of field I can get in my shots, even with my crop sensor. Anyways, these were just some shots from my apartment playing around with the lens. Makes me wonder what this thing would be like on a full frame camera

Sweet.

I have three Sigma lenses for our m4/3 cameras & am very impressed with them. Not as fast as yours @ f2.8 but sharp wide open with pleasing bokeh.

Here is a shot with the 30/2.8 & then a crop of the same shot.

that crop is really sharp! My next lens is definitely going to be a 30mm - 35mm lens, and i've heard great things about the sigma 30mm 1.4, but I do plan on switching to a full frame camera eventually, so I'm looking at other 35mm lenses (probably the canon 35mm f2 IS).

Why am I seeing lots of noise in the iphone picture ? The front of iphone is sharp but the rest of the iphone is not blurred well, as far as I am concerned. It's like the iphone is eroded away. So I am not sure how this Bokeh is pleasing. Anyone else weigh in ?

Well it was shot at iso 800 if you're seeing noise, but I don't see any noise. Perhaps it looks strange because I have one of those anti-glare reflectors on my phone, which gives it that matte finish.

Maybe you can show us the real world Bokeh outside see how good it is ...

There are plenty of reviews that speak to the bokeh the lens produces all over the place.

Glad you created this thread and post some shots. I'm thinking about replacing the fantastic plastic with an upgraded 50mm. It's driving me crazy and did not help seeing the Sigma 50 art reviews.

That shot of your iphone looks really cool to me.

At full resolution, it blew my socks off.

At full resolution, it blew my socks off. However, I goofed, this was shot with my Sigma 19/2.8 which is rated as the lesser of my 19, 30 & 60 f2.8s. :blushing:
