I haven't really found an instance that absolute (like, B&W with a color splotch) selective coloring works. I think it particularly doesn't work in this one because of the bottles reflection.

In the first shot, the reflection of the green beer bottle should be colored green, me thinks. Not sure the selective coloring in this photo is all that helpful.

Today was a pretty off day. Kind of sad really, when your best photo from the Arboretum is one of a floating bottle, but I'll head out again later this weekend to take some photos that I can actually be proud of.

I might have to agree w/ you!!! I don't know that selective color can be done better than this!!
