Big ol' black horsefly. Ever been bit by one? They hurt!! This bad boy was almost 2" long. Yuge I tells ya!

They're a kind of sickly yellow/brown here and thankfully not so common in my experience, yes have been bitten by one and hurt like hell. Would not like to meet a 2" one!
