The awesomeness of a good sunset (C&C)

natural lighting and weather offered you a great opportunity here...

The OP is having a royal fit via private messages that I have violated him by editing his photo and housing the edit somewhere "My Photos Are OK to Edit" "Comments and criticism appreciated."

And wants me to delete the photo from the hosting site where it exists. I am rather annoyed by the twerp. Setting up forum members with the invitation and then whining that existing in someone elses on line hosting account is theft and somehow means that I claim I took it.

I am going to plaster a water mark on it in hopes of shutting him up.

I ADVISE OTHERS TO THINK TWICE ABOUT RESPONDING TO AN INVITATION TO EDIT CRITIQUE ETC.

Indeed...if one has the "My Photos Are Okay To Edit" option enabled, and somebody edits the image(s) and puts the image(s) up on a hosting site and then links back to the images(s), then the OP who posted the original image(s) ought to kindly STFU,and allow the "editing" and the linking of the edited image(s). THAT my friends, is the commonly-accepted internet protocol both here at TPF, and on many, many other boards. Carping and whining like a schoolgirl about copyright on some low-res web-based image(s) makes one look like a little biatch...

Is this the second time this has happened to you? Wasn't I reading another thread where someone allowed edits then you edited it, posted it and they got mad?
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Honestly I don't quite get it. I mean I come from a concept art / illustration forum (Mostly digital art using photoshop). And I have never seen anyone wig out over paint overs and someone hosting the image on their site. It's all part of the learning process using an online forum to get better. It's acceptable as far as Ive ever known.

Only once. 2 different threads related to the same person.

I don't intend any harm/retaliatory ill will nor will I be bullied. Maybe the OP thought it was the crowning achievement and then I have the audacity to improve it. i.e. broken ego. That is one guess I have. The other guess is lack of interest on the original blamed on a competing photo. i.e. my edited one.

I just hope this is not some sort of trend that will catch on. (rhetorical statement)

It seems to me that the general opinion on the forum is that there is no problem with an edited version as per request existing in cyberspace.

Oh well, I am moving on as of this point in time.

I guess I owe an apology to Sobolik. I honestly did not realize that most people thought nothing of it. I knew my profile said I am okay with people editing my photos and people have done it before. But usually I don't see a link to an album containing it.

So, to Sobolik, I apologize for making a big deal out of it.

To kasperkjaerphoto: No it's not HDR, just cooperating weather. In terms of editing I think I just upped the contrast a little.

Well don't beat yourself up about it.

This is sort of the norm if you want to get better over an internet forum.
Like I said, Im more of an illustrator. I draw then paint in photoshop and have been doing it since 1999. I have been on a bunch of art forums and thats how things go. You post it for crits and you get others who save your drawing, does a PAINT OVER and then posts it.

The link to the Album might just be the guys only way or normal way to upload an image to post it. I can see how you would be a bit concerned if it looks like an online album but its most likely he is just using it as a way to hoast the image to post it for you.

Good ****in on you for just coming out with the appology.
I don't think anyone would give you crap for that and all should be good.

Just how things go. Ill post photos soon and I hope people critique them and even post up edited versions that might show me how the make them better.

Your all good after that post as far as I'm concerned.

:)

That just makes it so much more amazing, trully a great photo, I hope that the weather and sun will be that kind to me some day.

I guess the building is bright more than It should be considering the BG and also the FG which are darker

Done and over. It is a really cool shot. It might be of interest to the tourists who see the place etc.You might want to try and sell it. It is an up hill battle but who knows. I am still going to figure out how to get full size photos in a post and not thumbs - in due time.

really love the contrast, I don't think the vertical lines detract from the composition.... perfection isn't always what we need to aim for. I personally love it (for what my opinion is worth;) )
