The Boat: Sound of Jura

I took this on Monday on a working trip to Jura. It was a nice day and this caught my eye with the expanse of sky and sea at the end of Jura Peir.

A nice, tranquil scene; I quite like it. A CPOL or 1 stop G-ND would have given the sky even more punch, but it's nice as-is.

i've been having really good luck on here lately finding simple but exceptionally done photos. Kind of nice. :thumbup:

Thanks Tirediron, I did have a cpl and my ND filters with me in the van but got a bit lazy and left them behind when I went for a walk. I must admit that I think of a cpl more for cutting out reflections and the ND filter to prevent blown out highlights but it's good to know I should also be looking at the tones.

Thanks Bribrius, I sometimes have difficulty treading the line between too much and too little in my shots.

I like it too. Since there is not much happening in the sky above the clouds, I'd maybe crop an inch off the top.

Quick question. wouldn't that CPOL kill the reflection of the boat in the scene?

Probably, but my GNDs would not.
