Seriously, couldn't you find at least a little nicer background for the boat?!? Maybe if you moved a little to the left, or maybe the right, or maybe a little higher. (insert sarcasm here)
I think Ken had the right idea of having the prow of the boat a bit lighter to help the eye ease into the shot. My first impression was that I felt like a moth bearing in on a porch light - driven so to speak by its brightness. Perhaps a blend of a lighter version which tones down the brightness of the sky and lightens slightly the prow?
