The Cluckling

There was a pair of red-bellied woodpeckers a.k.a. Clucky and Bride of Clucky who were making a nest in a tree in my yard. Despite my best (.177) efforts, starlings drove them away.

Apparently they have persevered!!

Maybe not your best pic as you said but very likable so you hit the mark, imo. From my experience I think most people like a good action shot whether it's technically perfect or not.

I'm not a fan of birds on feeder shots but as K above says it's always good to see a bit of avian action and there's the story behind it too which is brilliant.
