What's new

The Coffee House

We've had a fun few days at the Lake with friends. 2 days of nothing but eating, and catching up. Diet begins anew today 🙄

My brother and sister in law have been in town visiting. All we've done is yap while eating and drinking, with a few walks thrown in. But I feel like I've gained 5 pounds in 4 days. They left this afternoon and now it's time to face the music. I'm exhausted!

Morning y'all. Looks like the rain has passed again for us, so sunny day ahead. Busy day here, Church, take DW to lunch, pickup parts for mower, finish repairs on mower, rack the Fig wine 3rd time, and hopefully get to relax later.

In other news I ordered some B&W, 120 Ilford HP5 Plus 400, should be here midweek. The Yashica Mat LM is ready to test a roll. Depending on the outcome, I'll either recover with new leatherette and make it pretty, or put it on the shelf for wall decoration.

Chilly in Maine though it was in the 70s one day. Light rain on and off. We decided against this particular house, so we’re still looking at listings. We’ll be home sometime today.

It's a wonderful 29C here in Texas, with blue skies and... well... air quality alerts due to ozone issues. I have a luncheon I'm expected to attend, or I'd be out with my camera on a nice long walk right now. For the afternoon, mowing the lawn and trimming shrubs. May try to get one of my sons to help me unhang a door so that I can replace weather stripping on the bottom.

Busy afternoon, detailed inside and out of DW's car, and finished repairing our zero turn mower. Last week a front wheel and spindle snapped completely off, ruining tire and bending axle in the process. Thankfully able to weld it all back together. New tire, and axle it's better than new. The reason it failed in the first place was a bad weld. Now it's recliner time for me.

Exciting! Very good film choices, too. As long as the Yashica Mat is cleaned up and ready, I predict you'll be pleased with what it gives you.

New leatherette - oo-la-lah!

Go for fake fur--preferably an endangered animal print. Strap to match!
Meanwhile, the Victoria Day fireworks barrage is just beginning.

Haven't decided for sure yet, leaning toward something like this

Had a good day, weather was nice...about mid 70s I'd say. Went on a little hike with my dad late morning at an old granite quarry site. Of course I brought my film camera. It was pretty nice! Walking between the granite was surprisingly chilly.

Seen a horrible thing today going out mushrooming.

The 4 wheel drive infront of me hit a wallaby and the a-hole of a driver didn't even stop to check up on it.

I did though, the wallaby hopped across the road as i pulled over and i thought my day was ruined having to help this creature with a run to the vets.

I found him in the tall grass and he bounded away across the road again into the bush, he looked really sore on the left leg but he was hopping so i guess thats a good thing hey?

It is truly heartbreaking to think there are people who can hurt an animal and just think nothing of it.

Classy work on your behalf mate. ✅
