The verdict is in:
I can NOT stand in the new kayak.
I have been using my sot fishing kayak so long I have forgotten how tippy a sit in can be.
I am quite sure sitting in the kayak doing nothing stupid I will stay dry. But I won't be able to just swing around to get pics of birds.

There are some kayak thrusters out now that are not too pricey. Not sure how good they are, but that's an option. Be cheaper than replacing all your gear.

Still hot here in St Louis. We planned on going to the Hispanic festival this weekend, but may still be too hot. Was looking forward to the food, booths, and performances. My camera has been sitting idle most of this hot summer.

Just go eat the spiciest thing you can find right away. The temperature will no longer bother you!
