We are members of a credit union and they are pretty good with debit cards. We get text alerts for any transaction over a limit we define; mine is set for $50. If something pops up that isn’t t ours, a fairly quick call and they cancel the transactions.

Hot through the week. I am supposed to join the Jeep escort for the Parole Officer who was killed a couple weeks ago. Undecided (I didn’t know him, personally).

Grand is riding in a parade Friday evening. Looks like a 98 degree day. We may not go to the parade.

Heated it up to 100° to make sure it works. Max temp is 104°F (that’s 40°C for those unable to Google

). Will probably try it at 85-90° for the summer nights then heat it all the way up for the fall. With our freezing winter temps we will likely put it away for Dec - Feb. I think with this type of tub it will use too much power to keep it hot enough in the dead of winter.

@CherylL - don’t blame you for skipping that parade. Meet them for an ice cream somewhere with ac after it’s over.

Can’t say I’m much of a bball fan these days during the regular season and early rounds of the post season but I can usually get up some enthusiasm for the finals. When I was very young I was lucky enough to be in the Garden for game 7 1984 Celtics/Lakers finals. What an experience! We scored obstructed view day of game tickets for $8 each after waiting in line overnight! A pole was literally right in front of my seat. By 4th quarter the ushers let us sit on the stairs so we could see. Absolute pandemonium when they won. One of my favorite memories!

Looks like hot, hot hot for the next week. Niece is coming to town and wanted photos. The plan was to go to a small farm nearby that grows meadows of wildflowers and has mowed paths. It is set up as a cut your own and is geared towards photographers.

Plan 2, I found a little hidden gem about 20 minutes from me. It is a super small park in a subdivision operated by the city. There is a creek that is actually clear. Around here in IL creeks are usually a muddy mess.

Great day yesterday with Lil'Bit, yard games, kayaking, eating out by the water, smores over the campfire, and just hanging out enjoying a perfect evening watching the fire and sun dwindle away. We must have worn her out, because I think she was out as soon as her head hit the pillow. This morning early did another kayak trip, but the temperature is getting hot, about time to pack it up and head back
