The Coffee House

Came across this while mowing this morning. Got all excited because I thought it was a Morrell from a distance. Closer inspection revealed a Plant Pot Dapperling. So much for supper🥺View attachment 277987
Yeah, don't eat that please.

I'm actually afraid to eat any wild mushrooms. Had a friend in college that grew up learning to forage for mushrooms from her parents and grandparents. She knew all of the ones good to eat and the ones to stay away from. I restrict my forage excursions to the produce isle in the grocery store.

Same here. I value my liver too much to be adventurous any more.

Can't be too careful:

This Mozart contemporary and his family were killed by the "wrong" mushrooms:

Howdy Peeps! Got back on the bicycle for the first time since my son Daniel passed. 90F and 54% humidity made it quite the ride. 8.8 miles RT, 118 FT elevation gain, 1:28:52 time at 6mph average, 145 bpm average heart rate/160bmp maximum, and I didn't die. 😂

It has been either hot or rainy here or high humidity. We did manage a walk at the nature center this morning. It was very muggy when we finished. We passed several people on the trail. Two men, separately, had shorts and sweatshirts on!

Thats a good effort.

I tried a long distance ride on my mountain bike a couple of years ago, my arse bone hurt for a month & my wrists for a good few months.

Never happening again.

I find regular brisk walks to the liquor store are beneficial on multiple levels.

Nothing beats a Mother's love:

I picked up the kayaks, Friday evening. Two 12-foot kayaks don't easily fit into a 5-1/2-foot truck bed. We had to stop and reload them after a few minutes and add some bungee cords at the sterns. It took a while to get home, since I wasn't going on highways, but stopping and checking them a couple times revealed they were secure.

When we got home, I backed the truck intop the side yard and pulled them off. I just left them in the back, figuring I'd get to the storage rack yesterday and today. When I took the first one off, rather than just drag it of the truck, I tried to flip it over. Unfortunately I blew out a shoulder so no rack building today. I did try to install the bed rails but that didn't get beyond taking the rails and tools to the truck.

Maybe I'll paint something.
