What's new

The Coffee House

Swan update. Went out the reserve other day and found there was a new 2nd swan out there and i thought his mate had returned. Went to give her some lettuce and she is really timid, shes not his original partner.

Went back out there yesterday and took a couple of beak shots of the new one, there white stripe has individual patterns and yeah there not the same markings of his old partner.

Pretty sure the new ones female because she's a lot smaller, glad he found a mate again because he seems way happier now. Not sure if were getting babies this season but fingers crossed though.

Just a snapshot was in a hurry, dads on the left.

I’m exiting early because I maybe want to do something else and to travel while I’m still young enough to enjoy it. Also my company made a very generous offer and I would essentially be working 2 yrs for free if I pass it up! Since I was looking to retire in 2.5 years, this is a no brainer.
I would be hard pressed to turn down a good buyout offer. If they offered me a good severance and an RV I'll jump on it... 😁

Take it from someone who's been there, best laid plans can go awry overnight, smart move to enjoy it now.....tomorrow isn't guaranteed.

Bloody hell, Mrs Magpie nicked my usb lead.

Was charging the phone with a power bank out the backyard while listening to music this arvo. She's been taking stuff up to her nest lately and i bet its bloody in there, not happy that i gotta fork out $20 for a new one.

Found my phone covered in mud on the grass and the power bank in the garden bed, but no bloody lead anywhere.

At least she left you the phone and the charge bank. 😂

Well, overnight our forecast for storms for the next 5 days, miraculously changed to all sunny skies.
We have had rain forecasted many times recently and mostly it has “missed us”. My rain barrels are empty.

We are expecting triple-digits in the upcoming week. I'm ready for Summer to be done.
My nephew was just here visiting from Austin and invited us to visit him next year. TX in summer is a hard no from me.

Yep, unless you are planning on lots of indoor activities, TX is rough in the Summer. Museums, art galleries, indoor amusement are great, but the zoos, outdoor botanical gardens, and water parks are horrible in the heat. Spring and Autumn are the best times to visit TX in order to enjoy the outdoors.

We've had two of the granddaughters since Sunday. The newness of the experience is definitely starting to wear off.! LOL
