Just took the girls to a matinee. Remember when you could crash in a nice cool movie theater, and stay all afternoon for just a few bucks including concessions? No more, $30 for 2 kids tickets and 2 seniors. Add another $70 for 4 small soft drinks and a medium size bag of popcorn each!!! A 12oz draft beer was $12. seriously I don't know how large families make it.

And this is all in US dollars, id cheat and bring my own. What am I saying id cheat, i mean i do cheat and bring my own.

But going in with the family, going to be hard to conceal a shopping bag of snacks and drink.

Ugh! 102F/38.9C with a heat index of 105F/40.6C. Took the day off of work today, because I was feeling off yesterday afternoon, and no better this morning. My blood pressure was down at 112/66, which isn't bad for someone with hypertension, but it sure left me feeling loopy. Feeling much better this afternoon. Needless to say, no walkabouts with the camera for the time being. About to gomake dinner, angel hair pasta with a lemon herb ricotta sauce, sauteed chicken, salad, and sourdough bread. My one day a week for having a glass or two of a nice dry wine, so I'm trying a Salento Primitivo (a type of Zinfandel from Southern Italy).

Movies are very expensive. We went to the matinee cheap showing and still was $$.

Over the years we have taken the grands shopping at Dollar Tree with a $5 each limit. Now at 13, 11, & 8 they want to go shoe and clothing shopping at Target. Adds up with 3, but daughter is grateful.

Heat index in the 100’s again today. May get some thunderstorms later, hopefully.

Ear splitting thunder, lightning, high winds and rained an inch in 30 mins. Temps way down thankfully, but stood at the kitchen window watching the storm and 2 latge tree limbs came crashing down. Right on top of my shed, with my boat in.

Try to sell her on reverse snobbery. Put on permanent "loan"(sic)to an old mate's 14yr old girl a Nikon FG+50/1.8 pancake--a move that unexpectedly stopped dead endless jonesing for the current schmaltzy iPhone for its camera.
It also likely drove business to downtown Toronto shops selling "retro" film cameras. Her friends got super grabby about having 4x6 prints of themselves--like who needs TikTok. Everyone does that! Seems waiting a few days for the lab is pure catnip. Who knew?

For Xmas I got the 2 oldest Lululemon crossbody bags. The 2nd oldest opened her gift first. When the oldest saw the bag she was offended that a "young" person got that bag. All was okay once she opened her gift. I purposely was calling the bags lulu-mon and I got eye rolls.

My Sam has learned to appreciate "thrifting." We actually find some pretty nice thigs. Still, we do hit Nordstrom Rack and Hot Topic as well.

Raised 2 boys and 1 girl, the boys were pretty easy, if they could get in it, and it didn't smell they'd wear it. daughter on the other hand always had expensive tastes. Not much has changed with the grands, the boys still go with the flo, but the girls seem to have benn born with some inner fashion awareness that drives them.

It also seems that girls sharpen their feminine charms on their dads and grandfather's, because we are the path of least resistance.
