Hi everyone,

Here is a photo of an unoccupied camp in Erg Chigaga:

I hope you enjoy it.

Well, we all know that a photo of a camp in a desert is not about a camp, it is about the desert :D So the most important in this kind of shot is to show the vastness/beauty of a desert by concentrating on the lanscape and choosing the right proportions and placement of the camp in the frame. Here it is stuck right in the middle and occupies too much of the frame to my liking. There are no real details there to justify it as far as I can see. And too much empty space in front of it. I would prefer the camp to sit lower and somewhat closer to the edge/corner.
Just my 2p, your vision may differ.

Good point!

This perspective (despite central type of composition) would work if You manage to show the texture of a desert sand (similarly to appearing one in the bottom right corner but You should bring it to the foreground and build first plan on it). It would introduce the viewer into the scene and give wider perspective of the actual camp location.

In Your version I'd prefer cut the bottom of the picture and a little bit of right side. Than I'd think about this desert camp as a main topic of the photo and despite above quoted phrase it'd work for me very well!

Hi Ink, I thought about cropping the right side a little bit. I will try to crop the bottom as well. Thank you for your advice.
