Not a bad photo - although I can't help but think there should have been more light on the dogs face and possibly body and some blur in the background so the dog 'pops' out to the viewer.

I agree. I am still working with my Fuji P&S so it limits some things. Thank you for the comments.

yep, a little dark... its hard to see the eyes of the little guy. the light on the carpet is is also distracting
