Ah, great! I was waiting for some of you New Yorkers to come up with the first pictures of The Gates, and if you hadn't, Thomas (where were you all this while, by the way??? Haven't seen much of you of late!), I'd have started a thread asking for them.
Our TV news and the newspapers are full of The Gates just now, but I was sure (and am proven right already) that the TPF-photographers would come up with nicer, more atmospheric photos than any of the press agency people.

And you are, Thomas. Thanks so much. My personal favourites are 2, 5 and 6.

Nice. I can't wait to head up to NYC to see this (I'm going to go up on Sunday I think). These photos are better in my opinion than the ones I've seen in the press.

There's a new mega-artwork in New York, the Nomad Museum, a fantastic structure designed by Shigeru Ban built out of containers on an old pier, featuring the photography of Gregory Colbert.
I went to this on pay-what-you-want Tuesday. (11am-3pm). Best quarter I ever spent!
The interior is quite church-like.

great nomad shots! i followed your thread with a visit and shot the gates last month. now it looks like im going back how long will this be there?

Event of the summer, I think. Still hasn't really caught the public imagination like the gates did though, but I think it'll catch on in time.
