I dont really like the composition, tbh

Perhaps if the hands were doing something military - like holding a gun, but just showing the hands....idk haha

Or if you want to show that they're the hands of a soldier, maybe have some BDU's in the background or some other gear. Then there will be more context to the image.

^^^^ I agree completely. There really is no aspect of the picture that would lead me to believe that the hand is from a soldier. It does portray hardship though... Just need to throw something in there to indicate relevance towards a "soldier." (ie hand gun, knife, helmet, dog tag!!) Try it out.
