Probably the most photographed tree in the world. Grew out of solid granite at over 8,000 feet in Yosemite National Park. Lived for hundreds of years. Died in 2003. This version was copied from a K2 transparency taken with an Alpa 6b in 1964.

The tree died during the drought of 1976, but remained standing until August 2003.
