THE LADS

I got out with TRAD and MAC, affectionately referred to as "THE LADS", on a hunt for pheasants this afternoon. Such a wonderful pair o' companions, I cherish every moment I am blessed to spend time with them afield and elsewhere.

Cheers,
THE DOG WHISTLER

Great shot, great pair. If all goes as planned Sadie and I will be hunting next week in MO. There are pheasants to the north and south of our place but none where we'll be. I'm hopeful our quail population has recovered some since the coyotes just about decimated them a couple years ago.

Thank ye Smoke665. Good luck on ye hunt and post up some photo's of ye times afield. what kind of dogs are you running?

Only one, an American Britt, my constant companion.

Good on ye Mate, they are great dogs.

That they are, we've had them for almost 50 years now. The last one was a 100% French Brittany from the original bloodline imported to the US, but she was more show than hunting. Sadie's bloodline isn't as exclusive, but she tends to be a more well rounded pup, and less bull headed.

My pup "MAC" sired by TRAD has a litter-mate named SADIE.:friendly_wink::icon_thumbsup:

I enjoyed Chinese pheasant hunting as a young man, and I too preferred a side-by-side shotgun (open barrel for close birds with a normal load of #6 shot, the tight barrel for distant risers with a short magnum load of #4 shot). It's always nice to see some success from a fellow pheasant stalker!

Derrel,
Thank ye Mate for sharing. I have been bird hunting for 50 years.
