The last of the Florals from my Bailey Arboretum outing

Here's the last few pictures from my outing at the Bailey arboretum. The sun had gotten to the point in the sky, that shooting in the shade was just about impossible. This is the one Rose picture I kept, although, I still feel it's too contrasty from that harsh bright light.

I like number 1. I see myself preferring the contrasty imagery in flowers. Nice shot.

Ernicus, Glad you liked picture #1. While it's contrasty, by shear luck there weren't any blown out areas to deal with.

Hey Joel, I like the contrast in the first one! Those 3 water drops above the center of the rose are delicious.
I like the second also (zomg you got flickr! )
The third I'm on the fence about. I know some reds can be a pain, I have poppies everywhere here and can't get a good accurate shot of them to save my life. The last one seems to be on the verge of losing the detail being too light in the reds but the greens look good... but I think if you add more contrast you might lose them the other way, tough shot!

Judi, thanks for the the positive comments. I tried just about everything with the 3rd picture, and this was the best I could get it. Now if Charlie worked his magic, I'm sure we would see a vast improvement.
