The Lost World

I was recently running an Oregon coast workshop, and we came here for sunset. This is Thor's Well on the Oregon Coast. It's an area I've photographed many times.

The sky was beautiful as the sun poked in and out from behind the clouds.

Conditions were too good to resist, so I got knee-deep and captured the scene.

Fantastic shot. I seen this shot before from you and been meaning to ask, how far does that hole drop off. Looks like portal of a lost world or to the gates of hell. IMO it's kind of mysterious and spooky.

A great effect and wonderful shot. The water could be flowing in or out - and if you removed the breaking wave it would look even more ambiguous.
