Thanks! They are as common as crows around here too. There was some poor creature flattened on the asphalt, the vultures were right on it, doing their job!Nice. we have lots of road kill here in central nj and turkey vultures.
I can imagine!Nice shot! I learned the hard way that if they are facing the road, they will launch themselves into your windshield. In my case, it it hit the windshield, went up and over the car... and into the grill of the 18-wheeler behind me... they are very smelly birds, let me tell ya!
I found out the same way while riding my motorcycle a couple years back. I was out in the countryside and one flew up from the left side of the road and in front of me, almost at head level. My friend was right behind me on his bike with his GoPro on and captured me ducking and passing underneath it. When it realized it's mistake it quickly swerved up and to the left to get away from me.
