When you take off your lens cap, always put it in the same place (ie your camera bag pocket).

Otherwise, you'll spend more time searching for your lens cap than shooting pictures.

I wish I still knew were my lens caps are. I don't think I have kept a lens cap for longer than 2 weeks for any of my glass. All the more reason to buy UV filters. They scratch up and are easier replaced than the lens itself.

Two words: Cap keeper I have one for every lens I own, and have not yet lost a lens cap in almost four months. And for me, that's saying a lot.
