Think Raj wanted to see a few Sparrow shots, so here goes.

Common little birds for sure, but I love them !!. I find the details they have and the colouring appeals for me. Plus I just love small birds anyway, the smaller they are, the better the challenge.

Oops, I better stop. All with the NEX-7, Canon 500 F/4.5L

All the best folks.

Danny.

Some of your best, Danny because we all know how very tough small birds are, especially BIFs -- and yours are terrific. The "zzz" and "three wise men" are especially endearing. Lee

Fantastic shots, so clear and crisp! How far away from them were you?

wow! definitely the best sparrow shots I've ever seen.. The second one is beyond awesome, was he hovering? You make him look like a humming bird :P
Also love #1 and #4, and have the same question as caveman.. How far away from them were you?

Hey thanks folks. I do like the little birds and that's why I love seeing what you have that we don't. Ahhh .... distance, pretty close at around 20 meters (30 feet) and taken off our deck. The 500mm pulls those in and there is still a bit of cropping going on.

It is a sharp combo Bill. The NEX-7 was carefully picked for the lenses, not the other way around. The body might change, but the lenses are here to stay ;) No flash Bill, just early morning light that falls just in the right place and the dark green background is pine trees, the lighter green background is a green iron roof and the white with orange / brown background is a rusty iron roof :)

Thanks again folks.

Danny.

PS: Sorry Raj, not hovering, just coming into land on the lemon tree.
