The missing DSLR

Am I the only one who is not able to find in the market the right camera? I love the feeling and the simplicity of analog camera and I would love to be able to find the same in a digital camera.
A full frame DSLR, with a compact body, optical viewfinder, only manual control and without screen. What do you think about?
Anyone else who would love a camera like this?
Maybe just stick with film? It's not dead yet, after all. Plenty of old manual cameras and lenses to choose from out there, and you can pick them up for a song these days. KEH has great deals on analog gear in great condition.

Sounds like all you'd get from a digital camera with your wanted features list anyway is the digital image at the end, and film processing places these days give you that, or you can scan the negs yourself when you get them.

Sorry.

But, as it already has been repeatedly pointed out - what you look for simply doesnt exist. At all. Right now.

Maybe some day Nikon or Canon or Olmypus or Pentax or Sony (ex-Minolta) will actually create a hardcore retro camera how you would like it, but do date - no such luck.

Fuji X would mean you would have an EVF. Or, with some models, a OVF combined with an EVF. The controls are simpler and more retro than other cameras, but it doesnt remove a display and yes as in any other digital camera theres a ton of settings one can change according to individual wishes.

Leica stuff is handcrafted in industrialized countries by expensive specialists - thus the high prices.

It should be pointed out, too, that even the Leica Edition 60 will require you to work with a computer. The Leica produces RAW files that nobody can process. You'll have to create JPEG or TIFF files from them in an editing software so you can actually get images printed.

Solarflare, maybe there is a misunderstanding, I was not asking if there is a camera like that in the market, I know there is not, but if there are other people that share with me the same feeling on today dslr available range

On the bright side, if you get enough of these folks (probably a few thousand) together, you might be able to have one manufactured at an affordable price.

What are you finding in answer to that question?

Definitely not me, and I've shot everything from a Browny to a Lenhof and I need all the help I can get. I love having the screen for instant feedback, the bigger the better.

it seems that someone else is thinking about a camera with more simple external control, even if this is a rangefinder. Konost . looking at the comments around internet about this concept camera it seems that many other people aim at a camera with this kind of external control. I would probably agree with most of you that the screen would be useful anyway. probably my original idea of a camera without screen it was a little bit too radical

Df is not compact by any means, it is not too heavy for a body this size, but is really as big and cumbersome to carry around as any FF DSLR. And with all that controls and dials simplicity is not really the thing you are looking for here.
The Df form factor is considered compact as opposed to full sized like the D4s and 1D cameras

Comparing Df with full sized pro bodies makes no sense at all vecause Df is not a pro body. Forget about D4s and 1D - it is pro cameras designed for work.

So do not compare Df with these bodies either then. Compare it with enthusiasts cameras.

That is why you need to compare apples to apples. And this is a big apple by any enthusiasts measure.
