Is this too dark? ( edits below) I've brought it up quite a bit from how it actually looked, and I want to retain some 'darkness' but sometimes I think I have an under-exposure bias. Thoughts?

A nice shot, but it would be better if you can brighten up just the flower, so it pops more.

I had to think a little on this one. I like the image, the creamy background, is outstanding, but there's a couple of things that I can't quite nail down. I'd call this as an analogous color scheme, but the colors may be just far enough apart that it creates a little tension. These are typical combinations that occur in nature, but the lack of contrast, and of a dominant primary again creates tension in what should be a soothing image. I think the edit helps, but you might also consider a tighter crop to make the flower more prominent.

I like the 2nd edit. Don’t change a thing.

I think I would take a bit of both, a dark background with some brighter colors of the flower.
1st layer: original background with (extra) gaussian blur
2nd layer: curves applied to the flower (only) erased background
Merged both layers and made a little crop.
(of course this is just my vision)

I think it needed some brightening on the fore flower but felt it still needed the blue compliment in that same soft-silky combination of the original. Just an expanded midtone correction and a curve applied to the blue channel.

Think you've put my earlier comments into an image. But the background of @bulldurham edit is better. Maybe a combination of your flower and crop, using background of Bulldurham's edit.
