The photo that got me interested in photography

Back when I was 8, my brother and I both received a Kodak EasyShare (CX7300) 3.2 MP camera for Christmas. It was my first camera, and I brought it everywhere. When I was 11, I went a hike and brought my camera with me. A few weeks later, my grandpa came into town, and as usual, I excitedly him my pictures. He then proceeded to show me how to use some simple editing functions in Adobe Lightroom. This got me hooked. I then upgraded to a Canon Powershot (SD880) in 2008, in 2009 I started using an old Digital Rebel, and finally in 2010 I received a 20D. (because the Rebel didn't always work)


Here was the shot that I took with the 3.2 MP Kodak. I was 11 at the time. It is not an amazing picture, but I like it

As I was using pretty much auto settings on a point and shoot, I would definitely use a camera in which i could control the settings. I would use a lower ISO so it wouldn't be so noisy, for instance.

Perspective wise, I would have tried to get less of the bush on the right, as some of the shadows are pretty dark. I might have tried playing with the height, maybe get down on my hands and knees for a different angle.
Does that sound about right?


You have given me an idea; it would actually be fun to go to the trail and find the same/similar spot, hmm...
