I think it's better to do smaller name and put it in the upper right corner and put a horizontal italics. 22 in the lower left corner. a good idea

Looks okay. I don't like the flaming bat...but he does, and he's in high school, so his taste is perhaps a bit unrefined, and he likes the psychology of flames...facepalm...did the check clear? OKAY then!

I always felt the same,exact way about flame paint jobs on street rods...tacky and unrefined...cheap bling...

Whatcha' gonna do though? The kid likes the flaming bat.

I actually DID completely miss this, until just now! Nice effort--I do agree about the soccer goal distraction, and of course, those flames. I like the idea of at least showing the kid one without the flames--even if they don't agree it's better without, you will have exposed them to the idea of "good taste," and maybe in future years it will take hold. LOL.

I actually LIKE the size of the number, though. Maybe not everyone does, but I had a certain pride in my jersey number when I played sports, and would have wanted it to be just as prominent as my name on something like this.
