I've always been interested in photography, from the time my grandfather gave me an Agfa half-frame in the 70's onward, but I never took it seriously; it was on and off. Then the pandemic and work-from-home, and then Texas froze over, literally, and my interest was rekindled. These two shots, of a robin, and a pair of waxwings, sealed it for me.

Of the two, the 2nd is the best, quite good actually. You have a good exposure and whether by accident or purpose a good composition.

Thank you! At the time, I was using P mode. The day was overcast with flurries. I was intrigued by how they seem to glow at the belly region, which is how they actually look. The original was larger, and I cropped away the excess. I used the position of the two birds and the brand as a guide. (f/7.1 1/500 1000 300mm)
