The Sound of Music!

A local musical theatre group put on their rendition of The Sound of Music last Friday, and I came with my camera, partly because they don't have an "offical" photographer, and partly because it feels nice to be noticed and to make at least someone happy with my photos. Even if they're just basic documentary photos with more sentimental value than anything, it still feels gratifying to know that people are enjoying my photos and inadvertently blowing up my FB page (free advertising, yes? ). Parents/grandparents/siblings go INSANE for these kinds of photos apparently.

My need to be popular is so unhealthy....

I'd call them very good images for a live performance! :thumbup: Nicely captured and well chosen.

It's a shame about the headset mikes, though, they're very distracting (I'd find them distracting as an audience member,too) - but that's not your fault.

Wow, I'm impressed! Though, admittedly, given MY talent level, the fact that I'm impressed with your work isn't really all that inspiring.

The main suggestion I have is to crop the left side of #3 to completely crop out that girl who already half cut-off. As a parent: As much as I loved seeing photos people took of my kids, I *disliked* seeing photos where one of MY kids was the one who was cut-off like that, like they just weren't important enough to include. Better to get her out of there entirely, imo.

I especially like #6, despite the motion blur and #8, because of how emotive the subjects are.

Yeah I was wondering about the missing head lol. It was either chop off the hands or keep half the head. I think I'll probably just get rid of it. Heh

I've learned that if you really have a passion for photography then you'll shoot any chance you can, regardless if it's your favorite subject or not. And remember, you're not really popular. It's just in your head.
