Now show the thousands of photos all over the net where the UV filter caused reflections, flare, Newton rings, other IQ issues, and damaged front elements caused when the filter imploded on impact.

doesn't this fall under the category of "its your gear do what you want with it"?
or is there some law that says if someone can PROVE to you UV filters don't work you have to stop using them?
if you somehow PROVE that UV filters are good does that mean I have to start using them?
you bought 'em man...use 'em if you want.

to answer your question...no. it doesn't matter. use what you want. dont use what you dont want. thats what the rest of us are doing.
