What's new

Think it will snow if it stays like this?

Enjoy your snow northern hemispherians, but just spare a thought for us poor souls in the southern hemisphere having to endure another day of hot sun and scantily clad women.

Kidding. She was about to leave to see a show by the Canadian tenors & I got her to stand still for a second & took an impromptu shot with her camera & pop-up flash.

Looks like you're going to be wearing shorts today, how luck you are to live somewhere so warm.

Wow I miss snow as well. Haven't seen "real" snow in years. In Texas we are prone to slush haha. In your first post Ron, number 2 in amazing!!!

I had to google "roof Rake"... dang Floridians haha. Nice pictures. I think the snow is really beautiful, but for now I'll just stay where I have to go it, rather than it coming to me.

Laf. We in the great white north assume everybody knows about things like roof rakes. :D
The weight of snow on a roof can cause it to collapse, so we try to keep the snow-load to a minimum where it is problematic. In my case, I designed the roof for a 72 lb/sq ft load which is more than adiquate over the habital area. However, the carport with support @ each end of a 15' clear span is another matter. I only worry about the carport section of the roof.

Makes sense. I'm sure all that snow piling up would be pretty heavy.

My daughter is begging for snow. For the last few years it's snowed on or right around my son's birthday 12/3 but this year it doesn't look promising, so she's cursing him and asking him why he took it away! It never snows here. *sigh* I wish we'd get just a lil.

We got some of that stuff too. Unfortunately, some motorists didn't get the memo that it gets cold and snowy in December in Canada. Most of the smart ones have already installed snow tires. The not so smart ones figure that all-season means that they can drive in snow... and find out they can't, usually at the base of an incline, where they slide back and forth, gunning the engine and spinning the wheels. And it takes only a handful to get the traffic to come to a standstill. It took me an hour to make my way home (usually 10 min.), and most of the time, I was going around motorists who were spinning their wheels, literally.

Oh, nice shots, Ron. Now, where are the ski tracks showing where you were whipping around your yard?
