Hi there! I'm looking to buy my first camera. It'll be my gateway to photography so I want it to take good stills. Also, I'll be using it to shoot film projects for school, so I also want it to have a nice set of video features. I found that Panasonic cameras offer the best compromise for photo and video.
I found four cameras that seem to fit my needs, the G7, the LX100, the TZ100/ZS100, and the GX85. Unfortunately, the G7 and GX85 are a bit over my budget while the TZ100/ZS100 is unavailable, which leaves me to the LX100. Is it a good choice? I'm not gonna replace the lens anyway if I ever buy an ILC, so I thought the LX100's fixed lens isn't a disadvantage for me. If I find a store that sells the G7 and GX85 for cheaper, should I go for those instead?
I can't exceed my budget of PHP 25,000 (~$500) since my mom will be buying for me.
