These birds are on top of a big tree about 100 meters away from where I was. Using my Canon 55-250mm lens set at 250mm, f/8, ISO 400, 1/250 sec; I took the following pictures. All C&C or suggestions are welcome.

Thank you for looking.

looks pretty good. To bad you couldnt get closer. Maybe add contrast and sharpen a tad

It's tough to shoot birds on a bright sky background. If you up the exposure to make the birds correctly exposed, you're probably going to blow out the background.

The photos are nice and sharp, but there's a blue cast to them, I think. You really need either longer glass or to get closer for these photos really work.

I agree with Ron, those are European Starlings.

Those that are really keen on shooting birds often go to the trouble of setting up a bird house or bird feeder to attract the birds to a location that is ideal for taking photos. It gives the photographer more control.

200mm is realy too short for shooting birds, I know this all to well as my longest is 210mm & I like to shoot nature & wildlife. Serious birders are shooting 500mm.

I agree but the cost of 500mm is  :grumpy:

Thank you all for your comments. Unfortunately I can't afford the expensive 500mm lens, so have to make use of what I have. :(

Don't be discouraged. I shot these next two (and many similar shots) with a 50mm f/1.8 II lens:
