This came attached to my Crumpler bag, but I can't tell WTF it is...

So, I've had a Crumpler Customary Barge Deluxe for the past year or so. Attached to it, came this thing... I can't really tell what it's used for. The only thing I can deduce is that it may be for carrying binoculars.

Here is what you'd see looking at it as if it were hanging off of my bag.

Here is the back of it. The black pull tab unfolds the velcro straps that would attach it to the bag. They're pictured in an upcoming image all opened up.

This is a shot looking down into the attachment. It looks like it's divided to holster a pair of binoculars, but I wouldn't feel safe putting binocs in there. Too afraid they'd fall out. It's possible that the black strap is designed to hold the gear (whatever it may be) in the holster. I can't really be sure.

And finally, this is with the velcro straps opened up.

Any ideas? Last time I checked, the product description on the crumpler site didn't mention it. And it's not listed in the "accessories" section.

Negative. Not that I recall, anyway. There was a product catalog, but no "THIS IS HOW YOU USE ME BRO" literature, unfortunately.

See, I just can't figure out how you'd put a cell phone in there. There's no sides to the accessory that would hold the cell phone in place, or a GPS for that matter. Only an elastic-y divider down the center of it.

I am in the process of uploading a video which depicts the product. Hopefully that will stir some ideas around.

No, but I figured it would work for better weight distribution if it were centered below the bag, rather than on one side of it... You know? I also RARELY use a tripod (unless I need one), so it's mostly a non issue.
