I thought these were kind of interesting, what do you think? It is silverwood lake in California.

Thanks, they're not the best pictures but I think they are visually interesting.

The first one is not too bad. You have set up the lake so that its curvature guides the viewer's eye through the picture. The second one could use a bit more detail in the foreground, because in this image it is just a big, dark "blob" with nothing of visual interest in it, yet it occupies over half of the image. I would have shown more of the sky and the silhouettes of the tree branches and less of the dark foreground. Unlike, in the first one, the lake is too small here to be of any help in guiding the viewer's eye through the image. HTH.
